About
Hello there and Welcome!
I am a watercolor painter with a passion for color. My signature style is to “push the colors” just past reality for an eye-catching and unique result. I find that watercolor paints let me capture the intensity of colors seen in light, shadows, and reflections. As a person who likes to “stop and smell the roses,” I am drawn to nature and scenes of beauty and tranquility. In my paintings of flowers, plants, animals, and still-life objects, I take a closer look and bring those small details to a place of importance.
Painting is my way of highlighting and sharing a fascination with the everyday things people might walk by and not even notice.
My love of painting flourished and was greatly influenced by my high school art teachers in New York. They encouraged me by selecting one of my paintings to hang in a Brooklyn Museum Student Show and then awarded me the Art Medal at high school graduation. Another of my paintings was purchased by the high school as a Senior Class Gift to hang in the principal’s corridor.
Over the last several years, I have rededicated myself to creating art using watermedia. During the pandemic, I created a new body of work inspired from my daily walks. I’m an award-winning member of the Valley Watercolor Society and the Pacific Art Guild.
